Hi; I have a requirement for a client that needs to setup sales people as distributors. The products need to marked down (fixed price - no across the board discounts).

They need personalized pages for these distrubutors so they can market the product and get credit for the sale.

Is is possible to have (create) this setup in PC?
Also, can the sales be reported for these distributors?

Thanks

Do different distributors get different pricing?

Ok, so then I'm confused by what you mean by "The products need to marked down"

At first blush, it seems to me that you could simply use the affiliate functionality in PC for this sort of thing.

I'm picturing this: You could use the custom pages functionality in PC to build your distributor's landing pages. (or at a much more advanced level these could be relagated to subdomains), and then any links to shopping include the affiliate ID (or, frankly, having hit that landing page first, it could simply be set as a session variable behind the scenes).

Then through the affiliate tracking functionality, you can track which distributor made which sales.

If you decided to offer different priciing to different distributors, then a talented developer would be able to merge the pricing level functionality of PC with the affiliate functionality (would take some creativity as pricing levels are based on customer being logged in, but it shouldn't be terribly difficult to bounce that off of an affiliate ID instead -- we've done more complicated things!).

Let me know if this makes any sense to you and if it sounds like this is rather what you are looking for.

Sean; sorry for the long delay - I had a crisis that consumed my days.

Thanks for the responses, I'm going to steer the client to the affiliate route only because they don't have a clear use case.

If something comes up I know who to call!

Terence
