Having worked with this mod/add-on from GBDG, I highly recommend it to anyone with complex descriptive details for their products. Improve your GUI by breaking your complex descriptions down into tabbed sections -- say Info, Specifications, Similar Products (using the PC cross selling feature), etc.

What's more, the way GBDG has designed this, it is easy to add other kinds of dynamically generated content into these tabs.

I give this one a five star rating!

Yes, I use it too, for 3.51 and like it.  Thumbs up, greg!

Curt - the new version is a huge improvement over the v3 code. I had the benefit of several implementations from which I could identify improvemements / expanded functionality and easier configuration.  I think you will like this a lot.

Well that sounds good, except that I need to upgrade to v4 which ain't going to happen this year. Maybe in Summer of 2010.

There is nothing in the V4 implementation that cannot be done in V3.  The main functionality improvement is to place reviews in a tab, and I have that working in the following sites.  I just made it a lot cleaner and easier to do without a bit of fuss in the V4 code.

So would I install the new v4 apparel then install the new tab for v4?  Or is there a separate upgrade path you have put together?

yes, when you decide it is time to upgrade to v4, do that, and the tabbed product page mod will drop in over it.  There is a minor database revision that will be part of the upgrade.

So the fact that I have v3.51a with the tab mod does not create a significant burden on the upgrade?

No significant burden.

Clearly, any time you have mods in a store, the upgrade to a new version - and upgrading to v4 is no exception - takes more time than upgrading a totally stock store.  But the http://www.greybearddesign.com/productcart/tabbed-product-page/ - demo stores where I installed the mod went smoothly, and an upgrade from v3.51 should be seamless.

The names of the db fields for the tabbed content are renamed in this release, but beyond that, it's just a matter of dropping the pages into the site.  And sense EI has integrated the SEO mod into the base code (thank goodness!), the tabbed mod install involves fewer files, and fewer steps.  I think you will be pleased.

When you are ready to upgrade, let me know and I'll be available to see that this goes well for you.
