Hi everyone,

I want to be able to sell a set of 2 items, both of them apparel products (let's say a pair of shorts with a pair of socks)

The problem is that for the second product i don't get to choose the options.
It just gets added to the cart when i click on buy.

Does anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks,
Victor

Hi there,

So, to start I am assuming that you are talking about "Bundling" the products (buy the shirt with the socks and get a $5 discount). If not, please reply with more details about how this is setup.

You will want to check out this page of the WIKI:
http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/marketing-cross_selling - http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/marketing-cross_selling

Note at the bottom it says:
  • Bundled products will not be displayed…
    • if the cross-sold product is not active
    • if the cross-sold product has one or more required product options (which means that the customer must enter some information on the product details page before being able to add the product to the shopping cart). If the options are not required, the bundle will be shown.
    • if the cross-sold product has one or more required input fields (same as above).
    • Apparel products: bundles are not compatible with http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/apparel_add-on/apparel_add-on - Apparel products
  • As a thought, have you looked into using BTO + Apparel? See this:
    http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/bto/btofaqs - http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/bto/btofaqs

If this doesn't meet your needs you might need to have a customization done. Please contact Red Leaf directly with your requirements.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Sadly, the client doesn't have the budget to buy the BTO addon. So i guess i have to code the feature myself.

Just as a hint, did you made such a customization ? If yes, how long did it take ? It was a real pain ?

    Thanks,
    Victor

So am I correct in saying that you want to bundle 2 apparel products and that each of them has a required option? If so, it would definitely be a customization and I have not made that type of customization before.

Here is my 2 cents: Considering the amount of changes you might have to do to the viewPrd.asp, viewPrdCode.asp, instPrd.asp and other associated pages to get this up and running you might be looking at the same price for making the customization as you would if you just bought the BTO add on. I'm not 100% sure of that - but it is an estimate.
