I was working with a client last week who is building out two more PC sites from his original PC 4ba SP 4 site. The new sites won't be BTO, but will be Apparel add-on.
Going through the option to Export for Re-Import and then the Reverse Import wizard, I really think that if a cart is using the Apparel add-on, it should include this column in the export: Apparel product with the appropriate value of 1 if it is an apparel product and 0 if not, so that the merchant doesn't have to add this field manually to make the import part of it work.
My client got very confused on this. It's a simple modification to prevent this kind of support requests.
The "spirit" of "Export for Re-Import" should rather do as it's described so as not to confuse folks here.

Sean: I believe that Export for Re-Import has been updated as you indicated in v4.1a SP1. You can try it real quick http://www.earlyimpact.com/demos/apparel/pcadmin/login_1.asp - in this demo store , when you have time.
