Hi there-
I'm trying to create a specific account signup form for Wholesalers. ProductCart support says it's pretty straightforward:
Yes, you could duplicate the signup files, and then edit the code so that when the customer is inserted into the database, the "customerType" field is set to "1" instead of the default value of "0" (0 = retail customer).
I'd have a go at it, but I'm not sure which files I'd be editing. /pc/login.asp?
If anyone has any tips or would like to bid on taking care of this for me, I'd much appreciate it.
Thanks.

I've been right on the cusp on creating this for a long time now ;-)
The only thing that has paused me is that I've not had someone actually push for it, and also there may be fields one wants from a wholesaler that are beyond what one needs from a typical customer.
Also, there would need to be some business rules: obviously, we wouldn't want to just let every one who requests to be a wholesaler become a wholesaler, for one. Also, documentation maybe be required, etc. It's not quite as simple as signed up for a customer account ;-)
PM me on this, and let's discuss.

Sean's right. The easiest way to solve this would be to create two pricing groups: Wholesale (Pending), and Wholesale (Approved). Signups could be put into Wholesale (Pending) for moderation and not be given any discounts. Once moderated they could be moved to the Wholesale (Approved) pricing group.
This doesn't handle the additional fields that may be required, but it solves one of the problems. It shouldn't be terribly difficult to create this type of solution. We'd be happy to help if you're interested.

It's good to see that someone found a use for this solution. Personally I'm waiting to upgrade until I know it's bug free.
