Hi,

We're trying to figure out details re: Product Cart before deciding 100% that this software is something which we can use. We have a website with CMS (Content Management System) which was created by someone (freelancer) who knows website development. We initially thought of purchasing Product Cart and installing this ourselves but it seems that to install your software, we need to have someone who is knowledgeable with website creation? So that we could correctly integrate Product Cart to our current website? We do not have much technical know-how.

Also, did we understand correctly that to be able to run Product Cart, we should have MS SQL installed in our computer (for the database)? That this (MS SQL) is needed to create the database for online selling? IF our website has CMS where our current database is, then this means that we will be using two database? One in our CMS and another one in Product Cart?

IF we will be selling (online) only 50% (for example) for our merchandise featured in our website, would this be possible using Product Cart?

Hope to receive your reply the soonest time possible.

thanks,
EAA

Hi, Do you know which CMS you use?
ProductCart needs hosting on a windows server. No special skills are needed to install the software and the installation guide is pretty comprehensive. Determining if, and how best, the integration with an existing CMS would best be done by someone with an understanding of managing & installing websites. I'm sure others on the forum will have more to add :-)

It would be a big help to see your existing web site, and as Hamish mentioned, know what CMS you are running.

And yes, more than likely you will have 2 databases.  It's a good guess, but not totally certain, that your CMS is running MySql, and as you recognize - PC needs MSSQL.  We'll be able to determine that once we know what CMS you are dealing with.

As for being able to install PC and wrapping it with your store graphics, it's really a matter of  how you wnat to spend your time, and your confidence level in being able to manage a bit of HTML.  Let's start with seeing what you are working with please.
