It would be really, really helpful to be able to offer customers a "Buy Product A, Get Product B free" promotion.

The way it works at the moment, you can offer a discount on a second identical product, but that really doesn't work with our industry.

We want to be able to give people a free case, if they purchase an instrument.

I'm actually surprised this isn't in PC yet.

Hi,
  It is :-) ! It's called Product Bundles. See http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/marketing-cross_selling#product_bundles - http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/marketing-cross_selling#product_bundles
It's more flexible as you can choose the amount of the discount you give.

Thanks for the quick reply!

What you describe is not quite the same thing that I was hoping for.  We don't always want to offer a free case - in fact, most of the time we won't.  We'd like it to be a promotion - so that people will see it when they are browsing products, and they'll be more likely to order now.

With a promotion, people see the message right away (at the top of the screen).  With Cross-Selling and BTOs, its not always evident what you're getting.

If I could set up a promotion like:  Buy "Product A" before January 31st, and Receive "Product B" free, that would be ideal.  But because its a promotion, it needs to be able to be front and center for customers.

Does that make sense?

Hi,
You could make the product Featured or Special to get it visible on your home page.
