I'm wondering if anyone has mad modifications to the tax code, in Product cart V3.  In Canada we have Federal Tax and Provincial (State) tax but you are only exempt of provincial, if you have provided the supplier with an exemption certifcate #.  So although V3 allows you to not charge tax on wholesale customers, it is still unuseable as we would then be missing the federal tax on the order.

Would this be hard to modify, or has anyone already encountered this?

Did this get anywhere?

I am in a similar situation in the UK. We are building a store to sell disabled products which are exempt from VAT (tax) if the shopper 'signs' to say they are disabled. They can do this signing online and if so I would not charge them the VAT on certain items.

I have a few ideas on how to do this, but am looking for the easiest option so if someone has already done it, please speak up

Version 3.1, which we are actively working on and expect to release later this summer, will have a substantially updated way to handle VAT. You will be able to assign products to different VAT categories (per EU official definitions):

- standard VAT rate
- reduced rate
- super reduced rate
- VAT exempt

That sounds great. Also well done to you guys for recognising there is life outside of the US and adapting ProductCart for it.

I realise my request is a little odd, but if you can take into consideration that most of my shoppers will be tax exempt (on signing electronic declaration) but those that don't sign it will have to pay tax then I will be a very happy PC user.
