Thanks for your feedback.

Integration of the Facebook "Like" button is documented http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/how_to/add_facebook_like_button_ecommerce_store - in the ProductCart WIKI and it will likely become a built-in feature in the next version.

As for logging in with Facebook: this is not currently on the development roadmap. This is the first time that it has been requested.

I would also love to see Facebook login ability added to an upcoming release. It would open the door to a huge number of social/viral e-commerce capabilities that could boost sales:

- With one click customers could post a message on their wall that goes beyond the simple 'Like' button. If we could instantly reward any customer who posts to their wall with a discount code it would have a huge viral impact.

- Product reviews could instantly be shared with everyone in the customer's network = huge

- Even just making the login/checkout process easier for the customer is a proven method to boost sales and repeat customers. It obviously won't replace the information gathering necessary to place an order, but it can allow someone to quickly check the status of an order which would be helpful.

Here's a good article on some of the e-commerce potential of integrating Facebook Connect: http://www.getelastic.com/facebook-connect-for-ecommerce-is-it-right-for-your-business/ - http://www.getelastic.com/facebook-connect-for-ecommerce-is-it-right-for-your-business/

The article actually makes it very clear that the advantages of integrating Facebook into a small business ecommerce store are very limited. Among the statements: "Facebook Connect may be the latest shiny object in the F-commerce world, but ecommerce professionals must be realistic about the actual engagement and personalization benefits it will deliver."

As for the checkout process, unlike with an alternative checkout system like PayPal Express Checkout or Google Checkout, which really do dramatically speed up the checkout process for an existing user of one of those services, there is little benefit in logging in with your Facebook account. You will have to enter most of the stuff anyway.

We are certainly keeping an eye on this, but we don't see it as a priority, at least for now.
