I'm using the one page checkout that asks customers to login at the beginning and it's asking customers to login again after the transaction. Is there a way to change it so that the customer only has to login once? Or is this by design?

Can anyone help?

Your store configuration is hosed.  You probably need to submit  support ticket, but here is what I saw when testing.

For starters, one runs all the way through checkout to the point that you have submitted credit card data without ever being in HTTPS.  Submitting the payment screen leads you to this:
https://apcollectibles.easycgi.com/shop001/pc/Checkout.asp?cmode=1" rel="nofollow - https://apcollectibles.easycgi.com/shop001/pc/Checkout.asp?cmode=1

I take it this is a shared SSL that your host has provided.  When you can buy an SSL for less than $20 a year, there seems no reason to use shared SSL these days, and your shoppers will enjoy a more secure experience if you have a private SSL.  See http://www.thesslstore.com" rel="nofollow - www.thesslstore.com and buy yourself a cert.

I'm also going to guess that your site is on a windows 2008 server (IIS7) and that the setting for session properties labeled "new id on secure connection" is probably set to True.  It needs to be set to false.  I'm guessing this because it appears you lose your session when you switch to HTTPS.

Give those setting changes a try.  If not successful, probably need to submit a support request to EI.

Thanks, I didn't program the cart myself, so I'll talk with the original programmer and get it worked out.

The setting issue is something for your host, not your developer.  Ditto the SSL - ask the host for a CSR, go buy the SSL and send it to the host for install.

Hi,
Also see http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/developers/timeout-issues#use_of_different_domain_names - the SSLis set without the "www", so the session wil be lost and the cart "emptied" when it switches. The wiki pages explains why & how to prevent it.
