Hello,

can anyone tell me why when a category is setup and viewed in Browse Categories why it becomes clipped. A category test shows ooooooooooooooo.., while others are shorter ccccccccccc.. This really limits the creative ability of the product description. Can the margins be edited for the column which is 180px so you can use the full width for your product description? Any idea where to find those margins for editing?

Thank you,

LT

Hi LT,

This actually isn't a CSS issue. The function to generate the markup for category navigation restricts the number of characters in the category name. By default, the limit is 22 characters (including spaces, etc.).

To modify this, open /pcadmin/genCatNavigation.asp and find the following variable & value:
maxProNameL = 22

Change the length to work for your layout needs.

FYI, that's what I figured it was.

Early Impact, in a future release, you might like to consider moving that variable out of the script header and into the settings file, preferably along with the CSS class/ID, and other settings we use to dictate the appearance of the left nav.

We tend to edit genCatNavigation.asp with all of necessary instructions for the merchant to re-generate their navigation.  It would be great if we could establish a set of configuration settings and have them appear automatically whenever that file were referenced from the menu.
