We got an email from PayPal today that mentioned:

"In keeping with industry standards set by the Certification Authority/Browser (CA/B) Forum, PayPal will discontinue supporting 1024-bit key length certificates and will migrate to 2048-bit certificates before the end of 2013"

Does anyone know how this will affect Product Cart?

Thanks!

I was just about to post about this.

We are in the process of updating to 4.7.

I don't know if this will update PayPal.

When I read it I got the feeling that if you use a 2048 bit ssl there is nothing to do. BUT I'm just a merchant - not an IT guy.

Try this everyone.  First, you need to have a copy of your SSL certificate.  You likely have an e-mail from the SSL provider.  If not, check with your host.

The certificate is a large block of characters that looks like this.

-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
MIIFqzCCBJOgAwIBAgIQSsPQxETVDsooH+sr74dSJTANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQUFADCB
iTELMAkGA1UEBhMCR0IxGzAZBgNVBAgTEkdyZWF0ZXIgTWFuY2hlc3RlcjEQMA4G

-----END CERTIFICATE-----

Now go here and paste the cert into the box:

You will get something like the following.  Note the key length.  If it is 2048, move on with your day.  If it is not 2048, work with your host to obtain a replacement CSR, then see what you can do to have the SSL re-issued.
