We've been having an issue for months now where randomly some of our orders would download the customer's name first name first and last name second, thus messing up our records.

For example an order came down as: John, Strattan
instead of Strattan, John
I'm sure this is the same person because QB also assigns each customer a unique ID and these two had the some one as well as the same personal information.

This has been an issue for a while, since 8/27/2014 when I updated the QB files for productcart

I would like to stress that this does not happen every order and seems random

Hi Gregg,

It doesn't make sense to us that the behavior is not consistent with the customer names, but you should review the 'default' setting in the config file, as described here:

We were considering making the Web.Config file read-only, due to the fact that somehow it keeps getting overwritten thus causing said issue mentioned before. Now my question does the QB Synchronizer require the file to also be writtable in order for it to still work? Or will it be ok if we make it read-only?

Hi Gregg,

You can go ahead and make that particular 'web.config' file Read Only. Hopefully, that will resolve the issue of this setting inadvertently changing. If not, please submit a QuickBooks Synchronizer support ticket and we can look into it. If it's a bug in ProductCart, the support incident will be refunded.
