We use the product import wizard to update stock on our store. We use a basic CSV that only contains SKU and STOCK. Up until Friday this worked on a daily basis but since then when I try to upload the import file I get the error 'Invalid file type. Only CSV & XLS files can be uploaded to the server'

If I upload the file to catalog via FTP the import works without a problem.

Any ideas?

Hi Paul,

If the issue surfaced completely out of the blue like this, it's unlikely to be related to ProductCart directly (assuming the files haven't changed), so you might want to check with the hosting company to see if there were any changes on the server-side. By the way, the error message can be misleading in that it's not actually an invalid file type, but that is masking the real error, which could be that the file is too large and exceeds the upload size limitation set by the server, or possibly that the MIME Type for that file extension (CSV) was inadvertently 'lost' and needs to be re-assigned.

If Detailed Errors are turned on at the server-level or via a 'web.config' file, then you can try applying the Code Debugging technique described on the following page (for the ProductCart Control Panel):

If you do that, don't forget to revert the files to the original state after debugging, otherwise you can introduce other issues.
