of course, yet again another roadblock.  All of the people that were in the department that had anything to do with using Product Cart are all gone from the firm that I had hired. I was hosting with them, with no support.  I am in the process of moving my files over to a new server... however I need to migrate the SQL database and setting that up requires an username and password.
I've contacted the place, and they can't find it...as all of the files are incrypted.

Anyone have any hints, advice on where I can look in the files to locate a password for SQL.  I see a file that has many many lines of information from 1 and 1 SQL ... but nothing that resembles a login / password.

Thanks much.,..

If you have the purchase information then ProductCart support might be able to help.  Contact them outside the forum via a support request.

Word to the wise about 1 and 1. I had hosted some stuff there because it was cheap and at the time I did not have my own server. It was the biggest mistake in my career. There is no urgency and whom ever you contact at 1 and 1 has to expedite your request to the engineers whom never get back to you. The first line of defense there is nothing more than a call center person with a manual in hand.

If you can get a copy of the backup do that and then get ahold of someone that you can actually talk to. It will cost more but life will be so much easier.

I'm at 1&1 and haven't had any problems apart from one instance.  They have always sorted my issues out and I've had a few.   Your database access details are stored in your ProductCart store constants I think (see the includes folder).

Anyway, if you are in your 1&1 login, go to the 'MySQL' link and your database login details are shown on screen.   I've just tried this now and it works.
