In preparation for some rapid growth that is anticipated with our online store...I am curious to know if there are any known limitations regarding order numbers? Currently, our order numbers are 5-digits long (e.g. 25000). Will there be any problems when we reach 6-digits?

No, there should not be any problems going to a 6 digit order number.
