It would be great if quantity discounts worked with customer pricing categories (one would assume these two features would interop). A lot of our business is done from referrals by companies who only sell to ASI members. The person looking to purchase products of the companies' come to our website to buy them from us to get around that limitation. Many of our products are purchased in moderately large quantities, thus we use quantity discounts for all customers on these products. However, we would like to give customers referred from these businesses a discount on those products. We cannot give a percentage discount via a coupon because some products' discounts will be more or less than others. I was hoping the customer pricing category would solve our problem, but it does not appear to work properly with items that have quantity discounts AND customer specific pricing (on a product-by-product basis). The result when adding X number of these items to the cart is the product being priced at the customer category price, completely ignoring the quantity discounts.
I would imagine the best solution is on that allows you to assign the quantity discounts based on customer category on the product's quantity discount page. Perhaps a drop-down list of existing customer categories (in addition to "Normal Customers") along with the price and quantity range that exists already. |

This is not correct. Quantity discounts definitely apply to a product added to the shopping cart, regardless of whether the customer is assigned to a special pricing category. The pricing category affects the base price. So if a product were $19.95, and the "Preferred Customer" price were $15.95, the calculation for a "Preferred Customer" would be (the customer must be logged in at the time the product is added to the cart): (15.95*QTY)*DISC For example, if the quantity discount associated with 12 units where 10%, the calculation would be: 15.95*12*0.9 If you are seeing a problem in your ProductCart installation (and you have not customized the source code), please submit a support ticket. |

Was out of town for a bit. Upon returning I've ironed out what exactly is causing the issue.
To be more specific: It would be nice if selecting a product option (apparel product) didn't reset the product price to the base price when logged in with a user that is part of a customer pricing category. You can see the scenario here. This example site has completely virgin source code and is updated with the latest patches as of today (Apparel Add-On is being used). By the way, the upgrade screen (after clicking "Check for Updates" from the admin home page) displays the current version as 3.51 as opposed to what is shown in the admin panel as 3.051. I'll open a support ticket on this issue as well as the other issue outlined here. |

Make sure that you have defined the sub-product(s) prices for the special pricing categories used on your store. With v3.051 you can set sub-product prices for any special pricing category, giving you complete flexibility.
