Hi,

This may be kind of a dumb question, but how and where do I run the initial
SQL query to populate my database with the necessary tables and fields to
get started with Product Cart.

I'm lost on this one. Please help.

The quick answer is by using SQL Query Analyzer. See the User's Guide page 25 (Setting Up the MS SQL database) for complete details. You will need to have your SQL connection information including SQL server location (either a URL or IP address), database name, username and password. These should have been provided by your web hosting service. If not, either contact them or you may be able to use your web hosting control panel to create the database or check for this information.

SQL Query Analyzer is installed with SQL Enterprise Manager. If you don't have that installed, you will either need to have your hosting service setup the database, or sometimes the web hosting control panel has a query analyzer type tool built in which you can use or you will need to hire a Product Cart developer to setup the database for you.

A couple other points.  If your host is running a later version of MSSQL, you can download Microsoft's "SQL Server Management Studio Express" for free, and use that.

For MSSQL 2000, you may still be able to find their download of MSSQL Enterprise Manager.

If you are on GoDadddy, they forbid the use of such remote connection tools and you will have to use the online tool they have buried in their control panel.
