Hi, is it possible to have the United Kingdom already select in the country dropdown list when someone registers?
Regards

Do you ship to other countries or accept orders from them? If not, then you can just remove them all and just leave United Kingdom.

Thanks for the quick response.
We are shipping to other countries but the majority of our customers are UK based.
Cheers
Wayne.

I think it would require a code edit then. Would be nice if EI considered the following as an improvement...
When the registration form is shown to customer, the drop down list of countries could default to the country that the shop owner has set as their address. I'm sure most customers will reside in same country as shop owner for the majority of shop owners. |

I agree, that would be a good feature.

Just a quick thought, you could do a quick edit of the /shop/includes/javascripts/pcStateAndProvince.asp file and add the following...
<option value="GB" >United Kingdom</option> just after line 315 where you see <option></option> Then at least United Kingdom is at the top of the list for your shoppers. |

The system already works that way, loading the store's country as the default country. Make sure to have correctly setup the Company Address and Ship From address.

Thanks, I added a default Ship From Address and the United Kingdom is selected by default.
Thanks again
Wayne.

It was such a great idea they already do it. I did think it did, but after reading posters message I fired up a test/developing store where I hadn't set the shipping details ![]() |
