Hi,
Has anyone solved the problem of offering different shipping options to wholesale vs retail customers? i.e. in the same way that a shipping option can be marked as applicable to only domestic or international customers, I need to limit to either retail or wholesale. I imagine not an uncommon scenario - I offer discounted shipping rates and free shipping over a certain $$ amount to retail customers, but do not want to offer the same to wholesale customers who should pay actual shipping charges.
thanks in advance,
gillian

You're not alone! I'd LOVE to see a way to separate the shipping based on customer type |

I have recently completed a mod that allows orders that contain qualifying (perishable) products from revealing certain shipping options from being available.
To be specific, 2 UPS shipping methods are active on the store - UPS Ground and UPS Next Day Air. if an order contains a qualifying product and the ship-to address is within a narrow range of local zips, UPS Ground appears. UPS guarantees next-day service within that range. If the zip is not within that list, we only display Next Day Air. This allows us to offer only a guaranteed next-day service to purchasers of such perishable products, thus avoiding spoilage.
We are also in the midst of refining the following: If Fedex Ground is configured as active on the store, and the ship-to is a Canadian address, don't offer Fedex Ground. Fedex Ground still gets offered to US domestic addresses. This should be complete in the coming days.
Both of these are for 3.5 which features the new tabbed ChooseShpmt.asp format.
It may be possible to extend the concepts used to accomplish the above to support other specific scenarios.
