I have to admit, I am baffled by CrystalTech's responses here too.
What is such a big deal with assigning a dedi application pool? Any server set up to run any version of ASP.NET should be default be putting sites in dedi application pools as .NET sites pretty much require that (they need to run as their own applications). And what the database platform has to do with being in a dedi application pool is completely beyond me. If their control panel doesn't automatically do this (which it should) all they have to do is go into IIS create a new application pool, then open your site properties and assign your site to that application pool. Boom done. Would take about as much time and less effort than it took me to type this paragraph. Sally, let's start planning a migration for you next week. Meanwhile this really should be such a simple thing for them to do in the interim. I'm baffled. |

Greg,
Thank you for that very sound piece of advice. I definitely agree and have discussed with Sean. Will probably relocate over there in the next few months and am looking forward to it. I know he'll make sure all will be working fine. |
