    Posted: 31-December-2009 at 12:30pm

Problem 1 - Now that I've upgraded to v4, I'm getting this popup every time I hit the "Checkout" button when placing test orders:

If I say "Yes", then subsequent pages load just fine, without that popup.   I checked the first checkout page, and can't find any links to external sources or images that might not be secure (I had those issues on our home page when we first started using PC, and it was caused by a link to a logo hosted on someone else's non-secure server).

** UPDATE - This only seems to be happening in IE, not in the latest new version of Firefox. **

Any ideas what might be triggering it, or how to fix it?   I sure don't want customers scared away, thinking that our checkout process isn't totally secure.  I didn't have this problem when I placed test orders in 3.11 or 3.51 - only after I upgraded to v4 and the "one page checkout" (which I love, love, love otherwise, by the way!  Big%20smile

Problem 2 - Customers have reported a handful of times that every time they go into our cart to look at products, they get a popup on EVERY SINGLE PAGE they try to load saying that there is an "internal server error".  I could never duplicate the problem on my computer, nor could my webhost (Server Intellect, who normally can sniff out and fix ANY kind of problem we've experienced!).  Now, after upgrading my Firefox to the latest version earlier in the week, I also experienced this issue.  It does NOT come up when I use IE6 or Google Chrome.   My host suggested it was some type of coding on the pages that was incompatible with the customer's browser version.   Any suggestions?   I know it's cost us several orders because the customers couldn't look at the products.  Clicking on "OK" on the error message just made it pop up again a few seconds later - it never clears away so the page can be seen.   Confused

When I upgraded to V4 this morning, that was one of the first things I checked - and I didn't get the error, so I figured that the upgrade solved that problem.   NOT!   I just got a call from a customer, who left a message saying that she was getting the "internal server error" when she tried to place an order.  She's a regular customer (every few weeks!), and said that this was the first time it's happened to her - she has never had the problem in the past.   Obviously, we don't want to lose her because she can't order online from us anymore!

Any and all suggestions appreciated  --

Hi Brenda,
  I'm not seeing either issue.
The first one is almost certainly due to a hard coded HTTP:// somewhere, typically some addition in the header or footer.

That's what I thought, too, but I didn't make ANY changes to my header/footer files during the upgrade - except to make the one modification to each that was required in the setup guide for the v4 upgrade.   The error message wasn't triggered until after the upgrade.

I just did a search in my html editor of both the header.asp and footer.asp files, searching for the string "http://", and it found no results.   If it was in the header or footer, the error message should be coming up on every page, though, not just the checkout page, right?   It's only happening when the "checkout" button is clicked, taking you to the one-page checkout form.

I didn't figure you'd be able to duplicate the Internal Server Error - until just recently, I couldn't, either.   It's a hit-or-miss kind of thing.   :)

Any other ideas on the security message?   I reallllly don't want customers to think our checkout isn't completely secure.   The message comes up in IE6, if that matters at all, and not in the newest version of Firefox, nor in Google Chrome.   (And yes, we do have a fair number of customers coming to us who still use IE6.)

Thanks,
