Hi,
We have a unique situation and I'm hoping someone here might have a suggestion about how to handle it.
We have two separate customer bases -- one group is English-speaking and the other group is Japanese. Our store is currently set up to display everything in English, which makes it difficult for our Japanese customers who don't speak English.
We're looking to create a section of the store that displays everything in Japanese. We can do this easily enough for the individual product pages by creating two separate versions of each product in the cart (one with product details written in English and the other written in Japanese) and then directing our Japanese customers to the Japanese versions, but we're trying to figure out how to offer the order/checkout pages and the customer account pages in Japanese while still running the English version of the store on the same site.
Is it possible to create a second languages.asp file with all the display text in Japanese, and create a second copy of all the order/checkout pages and customer account pages that reference this Japanese languages.asp file instead of the current English version of the file, and then somehow tie all those pages together so the Japanese customers don't accidentally get transferred to the English pages halfway through the checkout process? (And somehow manage to do all that without disrupting the existing English-language store?)
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!
Kristen

Hi Kristen,
What you are describing is not really feasible with ProductCart (without major modifications). Setting up a separate store for the Japanese market would likely be less expensive than the mods, but then you have the drawback of managing 2 stores... so unfortunately there is no 'ideal' solution for multiple languages with ProductCart.
