order cannot be found

We processed an order in 2009 but the client did not want to be billed until 2010 so we waited.  When we tried to finish processing the order today the error msg said Order cannot be found.  The order has been authorized by Authorize.net, the appropriate emails have been received and everything else seems in order but we can not bill this client.  What can we do to fix this?
