Paypal amount is incorrect when Reward Points used

A customer has complained to me that although he used his reward points to get a discount, the discount was not applied when he checked out with Paypal. The amount taken by Paypal was the full order amount not including the discount. The problem does not occur when using a credit card gateway (Sagepay).

I found that by editing the file gwpp.asp to include pcv_strItemizeOrder = 0, the problem is resolved. However, I would prefer to use pcv_strItemizeOrder = 1 so that the order is itemised on the Paypal site. It seems that an itemised Paypal receipt and Reward points cannot not co-exist.

Is this a known limitation ?

Yes, it is a known limitation.  The documentation that explains how to enable itemization contains a warning and disclaimer.
