Is it possible to change the time out period allowed when a customer is placing an order. We're getting complaints that the program times out before they can complete and order and they have to start all over again.

Are you talking about session timeout in that your customers are losing their cart contents?
Or are you saying that the checkout process runs into script timeouts and the cart is crashing?

Session timeouts. They say they sometimes get interrupted and can't complete the order but when they go back to the computer their session has timed out and they've lost all the contents of their cart.

The default time-out setting is 20 minutes and it can indeed be extended in IIS. For more information on time-out issues, please see "Understanding Sessions Time-out Issues" in the ProductCart documentation.

Consider installing Session Saver. It is targeted at the precise issue your customers are seeing.

Hi Greg,
Thats a neat little tool for those on shared servers without access to IIS. Some hosting companies aren't that keen or willing to change it.
I reset all my Productcart clients who host with me to 60 minutes at the outset because the same 20 minute timeout default also kicks them out of the productcart control panel.
