Hi and thank you in advance for your time and thoughts.
I am in the processes of creating my bulk product import file. I am currently stumped on the "Parent Category" field, which instructs (in this link:http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/products_import#all_products), "If blank, the main Category is placed in the root. If it matches an existing category, then the main Category is imported as a subcategory of that Parent. If it doesn’t match any existing category, a new Parent category is created in the root, and the main Category is assigned to it.
I would like the parent category to also be the main category. At this point, I have this category already added to the root.
My question: Should I keep this field blank or should I list it in the field? I'm concerned that if I leave it blank, and the category is already in my database, that this may cause an error. Perhaps I should delete it out of my category listing, and then list it in this field, to then be added to the root when I upload my file? Or am I wrong all together and should not make the main category the same as the parent category.
Thanks again for your help!

Hi, As you have already created the category you do not need the Parent Category field at all. Just delete it from the spreadsheet.
