Hi All,
I've been asked by a client to display Productcarts dynamic category menu horizontally.
Has anyone done this?
The problems I envisage with this is that as soon as the number of categoryn exceeds the page width then it would mess up the display unless I can disply on the next line down.
I have done this on other sites by manually creating a menu but the client has to contact me when thay want a change.
Thanks
Nigel

Our approach with http://www.euphoriababy.com/store/pc/Zoey-the-Zebra-by-Meghann-O-Hara-62p1016.htm was to avoid the issues we would confront with generated navigation (and such as you present here).
Instead, we defined a single included file that references a series of subcategory includes for the top nav. Then for the left nav, we built a second included file that contains references to the same subcategory includes, as well as conditional logic to decide which subcategory menu to display down the left. It requires manual editing but doesn't suddenly blow up when you add that last category that causes overflow.
You can look at how we tackled the top nav layout, using "UL" and "LI" to distribute the items across the top, as that code may help you.

Hi Greg,
Many thanks for your quick response. The information is very useful.
I notice you are using page names on the store. Is that with the 404 error handler? Have you found any issues with that or does it work well for your client?
Many thanks
Nigel
