It is causing the Shipping Method section to error out. That error causes customers to not be able to check out. I've noticed the demo store here is having the exact same problem. Maybe the ship method section should not go entirely down if one provider is down? I had to remove USPS as a shipping option to allow my customers to be able to check out.

I discovered this problem as well, and was surprised to learn that the "custom rates" would not even appear. If the USPS automated system is down, it would be nice if Product Cart would at least retrieve the custom rates as an alternative. I had to disable the USPS rates so that UPS and custom rates would appear.

Hi,
We saw the same issue and we are investigating as a matter of urgency. I the meanwhile the action you took of disabling USPS is the corrcet remedial action. |

Folks,
Looks like USPS servers are back to normal - please check on your sites. We are still working on a solution to prevent this impacting stores in future - lots of dicussion going on! I expect there will be a post on the Just In section and/or a tweet about it. |

Yes, this thread saved me some time.. I was getting ready to contact USPS to find out what was going on. I had disabled USPS also to get things back working again.
Is there going to be a notification from EI when it's ok to enable it again, or are we on our own??
Thanks
Rick
