We are having trouble with getting the confirmation page to display. Instead of getting the ordercomplete.asp we are getting the dberror.asp page. The error message is: "Dear Customer,
We are currently experiencing a database connection problem on our store. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please notify the store administrator so tha twe many fix the problem as soon as possible and let you know when the store becomes available again.
Thank you for your cooperation!"
I have checked the database and orders are in the database. Also, we are receiving receipts from the payment gateway vendor, Authorize.net; however, we still can not get the ordercomplete.asp page and the receipt from the website. We have tried everything we can think of. Can someone please advise of any solutions.
Please provide detail steps if it involves editing any of the files . The database connection string is correct in the storeconstants.asp file found in includes folder.
Please help.
Thanks!

if your store is altered, you need to look at your mods. If unaltered, I recommend a support ticket so that someone can examine your configuration. Under normal circumstances, that should not happen, but it is almost impossible to evaluate and resolve this without seeing the site and getting into the admin + possibly FTP.

I was just about to post this same question! I use Paypal which triggers the paypalorderconfirm.asp page and should send people to the ordercomplete.asp page.
BUT the ordercomplete.asp is returning an error and therefore sending people to the default page. Customers never see the confirmation page. {edit - the ordercomplete only stopped working recently after Paypal made changes} I am going to open a ticket, but wanted to post this here in case others are having the same problem stacelynn Edited by caughlan - 01-November-2010 at 6:37pm |

Stacelynn - one of our merchants recognized a problem with PayPal a couple days ago and EI has provided to us a patch. The symptom we were seeing was that upon return from PP, the shoppers were sent to the home page instead of ordercomplete.asp. The patch resolves that issue. It does appear that this is yet another new problem with PayPal and not EI's code.

That's exactly what I thought... I looked at my records and realized that it tries to send people to the ordercomplete page but returns an error. Luckily that was never shown to my customers but instead they went to the home page.
I've also discovered that Paypal won't complete gift certificate orders now either... neither customers nor I get any acknowledgment at all. If that's related to changes at Paypal hopefully this patch will help too thanks for the heads up - I know how hard it is for EI to keep up with all of these gateways! Just to clarify: this is not at all a ProductCart issue. There is an issue on the PayPal side, which they are investigating. The problem is intermittent (for example, none of the PayPal orders on our own Early Impact software store were affected) and it has - so far - only affected a very small number of ProductCart users.
If you are experiencing the issue, please open a support ticket and we may be able to provide a workaround (depending on the version you are running), while we are waiting for PayPal to address the problem on their end. |

I have a lot of my ProductCart customers using Paypal either as a sole payment method or in conjunction with other Paytment gateways.
So far I haven't had any reports of this problem but my customers are always advised to check their incomplete orders list daily.
I will be following the post to see if there are any new developments.

Nigel - the payment and order go through just fine - it was the ordercomplete.asp file that wasn't being triggered after Paypal made an update on their end.
EI was able to help me update my files, as its pretty important to us that customers end up back at the order complete page on our site (which triggers our tracking code etc). |
