We're seeing Out of Memory errors periodically in our IIS logs from PC, usually something like:

"2008-09-12 16:00:48 W3SVC151752 UTAH 209.41.xxx.xx /store/pc/checkout.asp |0|800a03e9|Out_of_memory 66.236.xxx.x Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+5.1;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+InfoPath.1) pcfront%5FvisitedPrds=%2A6%2A7%2A4%2A12%2A11%2A2%2A;+ASPSESSIONIDACTBRRDC=OHLKDGMABGEMJAEDIECPKCGB;+__utma=158713126.135068564.1206037817.1220469363.1221235084.43;+__utmz=158713126.1220446920.41.36.utmcsr=missionresearch.com|utmccn=(referral)|utmcmd=referral|utmcct=/giftworks/;+__utmb=158713126.3.10.1221235084;+__utmc=158713126 http://www.missionresearchstore.com/store/pc/viewCart.asp 500 18246 864 9953"

PC doesn't record these in its own error log.

Has anyone else seen this? Any insights?

Thanks much,
CW

Hi CW, Is this on a shared server? - Check with your ISP that the server your on is not overloaded & get them to move you to a less heavily loaded server if it is.

We had slowness on our site caused by the shared server.  Our provider moved us to a semi-shared server with 4 other users.  That solved the issue completely.  PC needs a certain amount of resources and it can get high on a busy site.  It's not that their product is bad, its just the nature of a good shopping cart.  Talk to your provider and see how they can solve this issue for you.  We are using www.webhost4life.com and can't complain about them.

Hi,  If you do decide to move hosts then 3 great providers who all have a good knowledge of ProductCart and so you can be sure they will provide a solid environment for it are:

- Greg Dinger - Forum Guru - www.GreyBeardDesign.com/ProductCart
- NetProfits - Forum Guru - www.nicwebdesign.com
- Jolt Digital - www.joltdigital.com

I'm sure there are plenty of other good hosts out there as well.

Our host moved us to a "highly isolated .NET 2 application pool", but we're still receiving the Out of Memory errors periodically. Any thoughts? Would lowering the session timeout threshold help?

Thanks,
CW

How much memory is allotted to your website/ pool? Can you estimate your store's traffic (e.g. visits per hour)?
