I cannot edit any categories--not even just change one letter.

I'm getting the following error.

Error in modCatb in Update:

ProductCart v4.1a SP 1 but with most updates for SP 2

Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have any modifications in the site?  unaltered code won't break like this, so something is happening that may have been introduced by custom alterations.

Impossible to troubleshoot with the information you provided:

- What version of ProductCart are you using?
- Did you recently make any changes to the file set (e.g. did you recently install any new files)?

Hi CakeGal,
Please raise a support ticket so we can investigate. As Greg says, the default code cannot break like this, so something is amiss with the files I suspect.

do you have the correct setting on the "apparel add-on" in the mobile settings?  that may be an issue.

Where would I check that?

Please look at the mobile settings as stated above.  There is a checkbox for Apparel.  If you have APP installed, it should be checked.  Otherwise unchecked.

If that is not the issue, and reversing that flag does not alter the admin behavior, please submit a support request as Hamis suggested.  All we can do based on the information provided is guess.

Cannot see it there--I do not have the Mobile Add-On.

Wouldn't I have to have that to have a Setting for it?

I have

General
Company
Display
Order
Misc.
Email
Search
Checkout
Blackout Dates

Hi CakeGal,
Yes, it would only be there if you have the Mobile add-on.

Her post said this:

Mobile Commerce and PayPal

I missed the "except" part.  CakeGal, I do recommend make this easier on everyone by submitting the support request Hamish asked for.  Nothing else can be done here in the forum to assist with this matter.

I had a programmer check it out.

He said there was a bug in the upgraded file below--the Google Product Search data feed generator update--Apparel Add-On-Parent Paths Enabled.

/includes/pcCategoriesList.asp

I tested it and I can update Categories now--and the Google Base Generator seems to work also.

We just found the problem and will be posting an updated version of the file to the "Just In" section of the Support Center.

Hi All

I have applied the corrected update for google base but now when i edit categories it only lists the main categories not the sub categories.

consequently when i edit sub categories it can then only be saved as a main category

Im using Product Cart 4.1

Hope anyone can help with this?

John

Please try uploading the attached files (for v4.1+) and see if the issue is resolved:

All we get is an error when we try to download this file.

This same thing happened to me. Try uploading this patch:

http://www.earlyimpact.com/productcart/files/ProductCart_v4x_GoogleProductSearch_061411.zip

Had something to do with pcCategoriesList.asp. This happened a while ago and I almost made a post about it but figured I was the only one who encountered it, so I deleted the post. Let me know if this solves your issue.

*edit*

It looks like earlyimp posted another fix for it on 6/27, I also get an error message when trying to download that link.

After uploading that GOogleProductSearch update, you might find that you are only able to set category parents as top level categories. To fix that, go to modCata.asp and change line 278 to: cat_ExcSubs="0"

*whoosh*

I didn't read all of the replies before posting mine. Sorry, it looks like this was solved long ago.
